Returns & Replacements
Shopfittings Direct is committed to supplying quality products. All returns and warranty claims are handled in accordance with our Terms & Conditions of Trade and the Australian Consumer Law.
Change of Mind
We do not offer refunds, exchanges, or credits for change of mind purchases. Please choose carefully and confirm product suitability, dimensions, and specifications before placing your order. If you are unsure whether a product is right for your needs, please contact our sales team on (02) 9608 5122 before ordering.
Reporting Damaged or Defective Goods
If you believe your goods are damaged, defective, or not as described, you must notify us in writing within seven (7) working days of receiving the goods. Please include your invoice or order reference number, a description of the issue, and photographs showing the damage or defect.
Goods must not be installed, modified, or altered before a return or warranty claim is assessed. We may require the goods to be returned for inspection or referred to the manufacturer for testing before a determination is made.
How Returns Are Assessed
All returns are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Where goods are confirmed to be faulty or not of acceptable quality, the Supplier will, at its option, repair, replace, or refund the goods in accordance with our Terms & Conditions of Trade and the Australian Consumer Law. The choice of remedy is at the Supplier’s discretion, having regard to the nature and severity of the defect.
Conditions for Returns
To be eligible for assessment, returned goods must be:
- In their original packaging and condition (uninstalled, unassembled, and unmodified)
- Accompanied by the original invoice or proof of purchase
- Returned with a valid Return Authorisation (RA) number issued by our sales team
Do not return goods without first contacting us and obtaining an RA number. Unauthorised returns may not be accepted.
Special Orders
Goods ordered as Special Orders (items not held in standard stock that are specifically manufactured, imported, or procured for your order) are non-refundable and non-cancellable unless confirmed to be faulty or defective. This includes custom-sized shelving, non-standard colours, and items imported specifically for your order. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions of Trade (Part C — Special Orders) for full details.
Clearance and Factory Seconds
Items purchased from our clearance range — including end-of-line stock, ex-display items, overstock, and factory seconds are sold on a no-return, no-exchange basis for change of mind. This includes dissatisfaction with colour, size, style, or the disclosed cosmetic condition of factory seconds.
Factory seconds are sold with specific cosmetic imperfections described on the product listing. These disclosed defects are accepted by the customer at the point of sale and are not covered by warranty. However, if a clearance or factory seconds item has a separate defect not described on the listing, normal defect and warranty provisions apply. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions of Trade (clause 19A) for full details.
Freight and Return Costs
Where goods are confirmed to be faulty or defective, we will cover reasonable return freight costs. Where goods are returned for any other reason (including where a claim is not substantiated), return freight is at the customer’s expense.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), including the Australian Consumer Law, that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement.
